our self-care routines

in this blog post, nur and nisa share their self-care routines. as founders of LILIN, they believe in the importance of making time and space, no matter how small, for self-care. read on to learn more about their ‘me’ times!

nur
as someone who manages projects as a day job, works on LILIN in the evenings and is a mum/wife for 24-hours, i definitely need a self-care routine. now that the kids are older and more independent, i have a bit more time to myself. self-care routines help me to be more calm and relaxed so i can make informed decisions. here is my routine:

  • make a cup of coffee - either iced or hot depending on the weather
  • light markisa (the passionfruit scent is really inspiring!)
  • eat my snacks
  • choose a show on netflix
  • be surrounded by lots of cushions

nisa
in addition to LILIN, i hold a full-time job and live independently away from family. therefore, self-care routines are important for me to reset and pay attention to my mind and body. i am very lucky to be able to do my self-care routine on a weekly basis, however i still keep it short and sweet so that i can commit to the routine consistently :)

  • head to the gym/take a walk around the neighbourhood
  • light tekapo (it makes me feel like i’m on a little vacation)
  • put on a playlist (i love george michael!)
  • put on a clay face mask

as you can see, self-care routines do not have to be a big commitment. these routines can be short or long sessions. they can be fancy or simple. they can be physical or mental care. they are routines that you create! what is most important is that you use this time to re-energise your soul so that you continue to be the best for yourself and others.
