Candle care
So you've got the candle, great! However, caring for your candle is essential to maintaining its quality and life. Here are some quick tips to prevent any burning frustrations.
The first burn
Get this first step right or you could waste the entire candle! Do you know that your candle has a memory? Wax will melt as far as it did when you burned it for the first time. Therefore it is important, for the first burn, to not blow out your candle until the top layer of wax has melted across the jar. This will take between 2-3 hours.
Candle caution
Your safety is important so please read our candle caution on the box before you light your candle. Do not burn for longer than 4-hour intervals.
Trim your wick
Always remember to trim wick to 4mm to create less soot and carbon particles so that you can have a longer burn with the candle. We recommend using a wick trimmer to get a perfect trim.
Clean your candle surface
Before lighting up, use a dry tissue to clean the surface of your candle to remove any dust or small particles.
Stop burning your candle when you have 10mm of wax left
Your jar may crack if it comes into direct contact with the flame, so once you are left with 10mm of wax, it is time to get a new candle! We are working on writing a post on how to reuse your candle jars so make sure you do not discard them just yet.
