a week ago, we celebrated a milestone - we held our very first virtual candle-making workshop! it was an idea that we had played with for a few months and one day we decided to jump in and give it a go. we have learnt so much from our journey of making candles for different occasions and clients that we felt that we needed to share what we’ve learnt with others.
in preparation for the workshop, we thought about what tools participants would need to create their candle and what topics they would find useful for the process. we put together a candle-making kit contained ingredients that were enough to make two jars of scented soy candles from home. this kit was delivered to our participants’ doorstep and included ingredients and tools such as soy wax, fragrance oil (we used tekapo and markisa) and two jars - just to name a few. we also included a special addition in the box which pleasantly surprised our participants!
our virtual workshop was intimate - we had a small number of participants (under five people). over a span of two hours, we discussed a few topics around soy wax and the candle-making process. holding a small workshop gave us the space and opportunity to guide each and every participant, answer any questions they have and also provide feedback where needed. as a wholly-online business, the best part of the workshop was that we got to meet like-minded people with a passion for learning and creativity!
feedback from the participants were very encouraging; they liked the idea of a mask-free session (virtual), casual atmosphere and they enjoyed learning from each other. if you are interested in joining our next workshop, enter your details here and we will be in touch with you once we are accepting registrations. details you submit will be used for workshop notification purposes only. we look forward to seeing you at our workshop!
